Passports and Cinnabon!

Image
In joburg today at the embassy to renew Micah's passport. Hard to believe he is already on his third passport(we lost one when he was 1yr). After finishing with the embassy we decided to spend a little time walking around the mall across the street. And one big plus to having to spend the day in Joburg is there is Cinnabon! Yeah for renewing passports! :)

Woohoo!!!

Wow, this morning was amazing! Once I got into the teaching I could feel the Spirit come on me and it really flowed. Such an amazing difference to the other day where I felt like the most boring teacher on the face of the earth. Even now as Derek is teaching I can see such a difference in his teaching. Wow God is so good!! What an awesome morning!

Last Day of Teaching...

It has been an amazing two weeks, I have learned so much from John's teaching. Not only just from what he spoke but how he ministered the Word. It is awesome to be discipled by a man who so clearly loves the Lord! I am excited for this morning too because both Derek and I are getting to teach the final two sessions. Though I must admit I feel a little like a kid who has just had his training wheels taken off I am looking forward to the challenge!

Praise Report!

For those who are on our email list you probably received the petition that I sent out recently about needing a new laptop after mine recent stopped working. Praise the Lord one is now on its way to South Africa and will be here Nov. 10! Through the generous gifts of several different people I was blessed to not only get a new laptop, but one significantly better than my previous one! God is so faithful and so good! Thank you to those of you who have towards it really it is an amazing blessing!

Promises...

Aren't God's promises amazing?

Breaking Through

For the much of the past few days, while we could see the Lord working to change mindsets in the students, today it was almost tangible the sense of God breaking through to bring understanding. It was exciting to witness as the Spirit moving on people's hearts and minds to bring change and freedom! Looking forward to more as we go into next week!

End of Day 1

Well today was a really great day. We could clearly see that what was being taught was impacting people. We are actually getting the chance this week to teach both at YWAM and to the leaders of a local church in what is considered to be a major gang area in Cape Town. We are really excited for what we see God already doing after just one day of training! We know He has much more in store for the rest of the week. Additionally we got to meet with a pastor from Fish Hoek about possibly coming and ministering in his church and training his leaders in the future. So many doors are opening up and we see how the Lord is busy equipping us to really minister to His church in so many places! Such an exciting season ahead!

Starting Big Picture...

Just getting started on our week. John is going to be doing the majority of the teaching this week, while Derek and I will teach about 2 sessions each.

Leaving on a jet plane...

Just sitting in the airport waiting now for our flight. It's exciting to think of what the Lord has in store for the next two weeks. Even though it will be hard to be away from Ang and the kids I know that it will be worth it in the end. Please be praying that the Father would really give us grace and wisdom as we are teaching and ministering. Also that we would have boldness and courage in sharing the gospel as the places we will be are full of those who are lost. Also please pray for Ang as she watches the boys by herself. Pray for strength and grace to sustain her while I am away.

Ministry in Muizenburg

Starting October 23, Matthew will have the opportunity along with Derek(our base leader) and John & Gill D'chada(King's Cross Leaders) to teach for two weeks at the YWAM Muizenburg base in Cape Town. They will be teaching The Big Picture and Foundation Stones, two theology courses produced by King's Cross Training. They will also have the opportunity to teach Foundation Stones at a church in Mitchell's Plain(near Cape Town). Additionally Matthew has been asked to lead worship for base intercession on Oct 31. This trip looks to be a great time of ministry and equipping of the saints! Please be praying that the Lord would direct the whole team in teaching and in every time of ministry!

Starting Fresh...

We'd like to start off by apologizing for the long break in communication. In part it has been fueled by constant Internet outages. But mainly it has been due to the extreme business of our schedule in the past few months. Due to this long break and some changes in our how our website is hosted we decided to do a complete revamp of the site. Partially our desire was to simplify the sight overall, but with the changes in our hosting we are now able do updates from any computer with Internet access even our phones. This should help us to keep everyone more up to date with all that is going on in our lives even when we don't have Internet access at home! So please stay tuned we'll be posting new updates soon!
