Catching up again...

It seems almost crazy to think we are already in November and that 6 months have passed since last I updated our blog! A lot has happened and some of it you may have been following if you have watched our Chronicles of Meng FB page or twitter account. In August we had the amazing opportunity to drive from South Africa to Zambia to attend the OM Love Africa Conference together as a family.

Despite some challenges along the way this trip proved to be such a wonderful experience and one we look forward to hopefully enjoying again in the future. In addition to representing Davar Partners International at the conference we had the privilege of helping transport over 1000 Audibibles which will be distributed through southern and central Africa. It was quite exciting to think about the impact those Audibibles will have throughout Africa!

In October I had the opportunity to travel to Togo in West Africa for an IBD training with a group of 36 men and women who work as sport coaches, teachers, and pastors. It was a second level training, meaning one of our previously trained IBD trainers was presenting the course along with me. In the Interactive Bible Discovery Training we use the method of we teach, then you teach with us, and then you teach on your own and we observe. We have found this to be a very effective method of raising up Master Trainers who are capable of training other trainers.

Following my time in Togo, I turned around and drove to Botswana for another second level IBD training. This time it was 4 other trainers and myself who were presenting the course to 28 attendees. The hope is that these 4 will actually work together as a team to start equipping others throughout Botswana to be able to effectively engage the oral learners of Botswana with the Word of God.

As the year starts winding down now I have one last training on the schedule that will be in Uganda. This will also be a second level training and hopefully will bring us one step closer to having a Master Trainer equipped and released in East Africa. We have made it a goal for our department to have within the next 2-3 years established at least one Master Trainer in each region of Africa(East, West, South, Central, and North). From there we would work to raise up at least one for every country within Africa. Will you pray with us that the Lord would direct our steps and lead us to the right people, those whom He has raised up to carry His Word into the nations!
