"Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them..."

The scripture in the title is Matthew 6:1 and it is where we started this afternoon with the recordings. Its a rather humbling encouragement to us as we work on this project. When you consider the hundreds of man hours that are going into this project and the fact that at the end of the day there is little to no recognition for those involved it is easy lose heart and give up. Yet if you finish verse one you see there is a veiled promise that being reward from the Lord if you are willing to "practice righteousness" in secret.

What excites me is that literally 15-20 years down the road there will be Tswana's out in some village listening to these recordings for the first time, hearing the Word for the first time! Who knows how many people will come to know their Heavenly Father, or how many people will transformed, set free, etc! Pray that we will not grow weary in doing good and that we will press on until the finish line.

Uganda & Kenya Updates

As I sit here in Nairobi, Kenya I thought I would take the time to write a brief update of my experiences so far doing training in Uganda and Kenya. Firstly I was quite amazed at the beauty in Uganda. For some reason I had in my head that Uganda, being near central Africa, would like all those pictures you see of the African plains. As you can see from my picture below that is not the case. In fact if I hadn't known better I would have thought the plane accidently went to an island somewhere in the Philippines or somewhere similar. The people of Uganda are just as beautiful as the landscape they live in. I had the privilege of training 15 trainers(10 from Champions United Sports Ministry and 5 from the Bible Society of Uganda). What is Interactive Bible Discovery?

Over the past year or so I have mentioned Interactive Bible Discovery a number of times and talked about getting to facilitate a number of IBD training courses. As some of you following our newsletters and blogs are not familiar with IBD I wanted to take the opportunity to share a bit about what exactly is Interactive Bible Discovery and what it means to facilitate an IBD course. Firstly, Interactive Bible Discovery is a method of communicating Scripture that integrates storytelling and Audio Scripture Engagement to create an ongoing process of discipleship within an oral community. Rather than teaching or explaining to communicate meanings from the Word, questions are used to promote discussion and interaction from all participants. Catching up again...

It seems almost crazy to think we are already in November and that 6 months have passed since last I updated our blog! A lot has happened and some of it you may have been following if you have watched our Chronicles of Meng FB page or twitter account. In August we had the amazing opportunity to drive from South Africa to Zambia to attend the OM Love Africa Conference together as a family.  Despite some challenges along the way this trip proved to be such a wonderful experience and one we look forward to hopefully enjoying again in the future. In addition to representing Davar Partners International at the conference we had the privilege of helping transport over 1000 Audibibles which will be distributed through southern and central Africa.
