Urgent Prayer: Update...Keep Praying!!!

So after some rearranging of project funds it looks like I will be able to rent a 4x4 in Pemba(double the cost of my original chartered flight). So I will be able to get there however I found out this afternoon that there may be a struggle to get the audio ready in time.

There are three Davar technicians who are working 14hrs a day currently to finish editing and mastering the recordings, if all goes to plan they should finish this process by next Friday. From there it goes to our Partner Services department to be compiled for loading on the Audibible players. That usually takes one working day, at that point we would normally send it to our manufacturing partner for them to produce the 500 units which would take them about 2 days. I say normally because our manufacturing partner is currently enduring a labor strike(more on this later). This means for the units to get loaded we must do it ourselves in the office with our current stock. On average our partner services department can prep about a 100 units per day if nothing else is going on...are you starting to get the picture. Now add to this the fact that we have 2 other celebrations with another 1200 units needed between them and both of them are taking place the same week as the Makonde celebration!

Now about the strike,  remember I mentioned we had to use the AudiBible units we currently have in stock. Those total right around 1700 units or rather just enough to cover three celebrations. Just this morning though we received several urgent orders from key ministry partners totaling roughly another 1200-1300 units. If it hasn't become very clear we are in need of several big miracles! Please be praying with us that the Lord would supernaturally work on our behalf to somehow supply the units and the time/ability to get them loaded on schedule!

As I sit here in Nairobi, Kenya I thought I would take the time to write a brief update of my experiences so far doing training in Uganda and Kenya. Firstly I was quite amazed at the beauty in Uganda. For some reason I had in my head that Uganda, being near central Africa, would like all those pictures you see of the African plains. As you can see from my picture below that is not the case. In fact if I hadn't known better I would have thought the plane accidently went to an island somewhere in the Philippines or somewhere similar. What is Interactive Bible Discovery?

Over the past year or so I have mentioned Interactive Bible Discovery a number of times and talked about getting to facilitate a number of IBD training courses. As some of you following our newsletters and blogs are not familiar with IBD I wanted to take the opportunity to share a bit about what exactly is Interactive Bible Discovery and what it means to facilitate an IBD course. Kenya Training Photos and Observations...

Yesterday I promised that I would post some pictures of the training and so here are a few. We had a few new people join this morning who had been traveling from other areas so we are up to 29 trainers now. I must say that this has been by far the best training that I have been a part of to date. Throughout the course the trainers are taught how to learn and tell Scripture Stories accurately in order to take them to the oral learners whom they work and live with. They are broken into small groups to practice the various stories. Then each group must decide on one person to tell the to the larger group as a whole. During the second day we practice what it will be like for them as individuals to be sent to another group, church, village, etc. And so when they have decided within the group who there "missionary" is they lay hands on that person and "commision" them to go and "send them to their target village" (Read other group) to...
